Part 2
This was an interesting book to me. This was the first time I had ever read a graphic novel and was confused how to read the panels at first then I figured it out. It kept my interest because I had to follow the picture to know what was going on in the story. It was a different experience reading a novel with lot of picture in it and not as much writing. I am not sure if I would read another graphic novel it’s not the type of books I am into. I enjoyed seeing the illustration in this book and how they told a story.
Part 3
This story takes place in Lebanon during the civil war the war had been going on for 6 years so Zeina, her brother were used to it. In Beirut which is where they live Zeina parents hadn’t returned from the other side of the city and the bombs were getting closer and closer. The neighbors her apartment house created a comfortable and safe environment for her and her brother they shared cooking, games and gossip. As they were trying to make it through a dramatic day in a safe place. This story took place in Beirut and the themes were family and community. This story is told from Zeina point of view.
Part 4
First activity could be to make sfouf cake
